Ahhh, I loved this one. The quiet, understated atmosphere of the story was simply great.Sometimes a fickle thing as the right timing can make something work exceedingly well. This time it certainly worked in my favour. Normally I'm not keen on romances with already established couples—this time the dynamic had me totally hooked. Normally I'm not a fan of murder mystery sub plots in romances—this time it kept my interest up throughout. It's almost funny how many 'normally not' barriers of mine this book proved wrong.We get to meet three men who are in the middle of an ongoing relationship with each other. They are in love, established but not out. There are a few flashbacks to how they met, but mostly the story is set in the current timeline. The story slowly revolves around the three men, their careers and seeing each other without outing themselves; but changes are coming. The murder plot simmers in the background. May sound simplistic, but the feeling of reality and the chemistry made it a scrumptious read.I adored the trio of men, and thought it a fresh take that they were introduced mid relationship to the reader. The polyamory angle was written with great attention to detail and good balance, and with the heart in the right place.The only minor, minor niggle that caused me some confusion was the age references in the beginning of the story, when two of the three guys were described as "older guys". My perceptions of Casey and Will needed a major overhaul once I learnt they were in their early thirties rather than late forties, haha!I want more of these three, so I'm definitely reading the sequel as soon as it is released.
